Fly Fishing (catch-and-release)
Catch-and-release fly fishing is generally done in the shallow, open waters of Chetumal Bay and inside the National Marine Park and Reef of Xcalak. The beauty and tranquility of this landscape invites you to enjoy the delightful sport of fly fishing, with macabí, tarpon, bonefish, and permit available. You can find good fishing simply by wading at “Los Dedos”, “Nato’s Flat”, “Punta Maya” and “Lighthouse” and in many, many other places fly fishing by boat is superb.
There are few activities that present nature's beauty better or are more rewarding than fly fishing on the remote and spectacular Xcalak flats.
Solitude, beauty, tranquility, limitless sky, fish-savy guides, birds and wildlife, and the challenge of successful stalking jacks, bonefish, permit and tarpon greet those who fish in the Bahia Blanca catch-and-release program.
